Install the Chrome extension

MeetingGo records from the Google Meet tab itself — that's the part that keeps a bot out of your call, and it's what the extension does. Takes about three minutes.

MeetingGo isn't on the Chrome Web Store yet, so it installs from a folder rather than in one click. It works exactly the same once it's in — the four steps below take about three minutes.

    Download and unzip

    Unzip it somewhere permanent — Documents/MeetingGo is fine. Chrome loads the extension from that folder every time it starts.

    Don't delete or move the folder afterwards — that's what breaks the extension for most people.

    Load it into Chrome

    Open chrome://extensions, turn on Developer mode (top right), then click Load unpacked and pick the folder that directly contains manifest.json.

    Seeing "Manifest file is missing or unreadable"? You picked a folder one level too high — go into the inner folder and select that.

    Pin it

    Click the puzzle-piece icon beside Chrome's address bar and pin MeetingGo, so the Record button is always one click away.

    Connect your account

    Open the MeetingGo popup and hit Sign in. A tab opens and links the extension to your account. Then click Enable microphone — without it, tab capture records everyone except you.

    Record a call

    Join a Google Meet, click the MeetingGo icon, then Start recording. Stop from the floating widget and the notes land in your dashboard seconds later.

    Chrome only lets an extension capture a tab after you've clicked it on that tab, which is why the first recording has to start from the toolbar icon.
